Help! how do I get the PoC spreadsheet working

Hi, having problems getting the free download spreadsheet to work with creating the linear gauge on my dashboard. The widget showcase calcs tab is not present in the free PoC version I have. Was given an activation code but do not know what to do with it. Can anyone help please
