[Video Tutorial] - Dashboard with Real Time Live Web Data

We took a few moments to make a short YouTube tutorial describing how to make a dashboard in Microsoft Excel that show live weather data that is pulled from the internet using our new circular dial widget.

The video covers copying, pasting, setting up the dashboard, ungrouping and configuring widgets in addition to modifying the underlying shapes using the selection pane window. If there's anything that is not clear in the video, feel free to ask more questions.

Surprised to hear the dial is changing color.

What version of Excel are you running? You should be able to find this under FILE > HELP.

We used to work with Excel 2007 but are currently with Excel 2010 which copies and pastes widgets fine. We are aware that 2007 had a few idiosyncrasies when copying and pasting textboxes (resetting the font format to default) which always required an extra step of updating the formatting.

By the way, changing the colors back is very simple as the circular dial widget is made from simple common Excel objects that are highly configurable. You can see the objects via the selection pane (HOME > FIND AND SELECT > SELECTION PANE). Take a look at the video here..

Glad you managed to solve the problem!

Yes, the Commercial License is a one-time payment for ever! It also gives you free access to the Commercial License Holder's download area which means that you can also access new widgets as we develop them - for example this one (which we'll probably upload later today).
